The Brisbane International Airport provides delegates with outstandingly efficient facilities for arrivals and departures. Brisbane's ultra-modern International Airport is located only 15 kilometres, or 20 minutes transfer time (by road), from the CBD with Airtrain access direct to the city centre.
Brisbane offers direct flights from the USA, Europe and Asia. Currently there are 218 direct flights per week arriving in Brisbane from all corners of the globe. This assures international delegates frequent, direct flights allowing flexible itineraries for pre and post conference touring.
For your airport transfers, delegates can now fly through Brisbane's traffic with
AIRTRAIN. Airtrain offers a fast, reliable and cheaper alternative for travel from
Brisbane Airport to the centre of Brisbane. Airtrain services run every 15 minutes and the express, air-conditioned journey takes only 20 minutes. The airport station is located directly outside the International Terminal and connects with 5 stations covering 80% of downtown Brisbane.
Brisbane is accessible to all visitors, providing wheelchair access to many public
facilities, accommodation, gardens, restaurants and rail and bus public transport.

Australia's Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) system is the world's most advanced and streamlined travel visa authorisation system. Recent innovative enhancements to ETA arrangements allow a traveller to apply for visa information over the Internet. The ETA is a stored electronic authority for travel to Australia for the short-term tourist. It replaces the passport visa label or stamp in a passport and removes the need for application forms. ETA visas are issued within seconds of being requested through computer links between Department of Immigration, Migration and Indigenous Affairs, travel agents, airlines and specialist service providers around the world, ensuring delegates know their visas are in order before leaving their home country.
Downtown Brisbane is compact and attractive, and many visitors choose to walk within the city in order to appreciate the city sights and relaxed atmosphere. A network of trains, ferries, taxis and buses operate throughout the city and link the airport, suburbs and local attractions to the city.
Brisbane's new single transport network, TransLink, provides integrated ticketing where one ticket will take you wherever you need to go on buses, trains and ferries.
City rail stations are conveniently situated at two city hotels, the Sofitel Brisbane Hotel and the Holiday Inn Brisbane. Toowong is the closest train station to the University.
Brisbane's public bus services connect the city centre, inner city suburbs, railway
stations and ferry wharves. There are regular city tours allowing visitors to set their own itinerary in discovering Brisbane's historical and cultural attractions. The
Brisbane City Council runs several bus services to and from the University. All buses can be caught from the bus interchange adjacent to the conference venue. The most direct services from the city to the venue are the 407 and 412.
Taxi services are plentiful in Brisbane. There are two major taxi companies and their drivers are noted for their friendly disposition.
Brisbane's picturesque river setting provides a refreshing option for delegates. The high-speed ferries, CityCats, connect downtown Brisbane with St Lucia and depart at approximately 20 minute intervals.
