Accommodation

Accommodation is available at the conference venue, Emmanuel College, St Lucia and at downtown Brisbane hotels ranging from luxury to budget. Details of downtown accommodation options will be available here later in 2008.

Accommodation in Emmanuel College

Emmanuel College is able to provide a range of accommodation. All options are inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner, which can be tailored to meet vegetarian or most dietary requirements. Linen and towels are provided. The college also has available smart card and coin operated laundry facilities, internet access from the rooms and swipe card access to a computer room. Children can be accommodated at the College by selecting option 3. The College has 5 rooms fitted for disabled guests and all function rooms and the dining hall are accessible by wheelchair.

Check in will be Sunday 12th July 2009 and check out will be Thursday 16th July 2009. Earliest check in available is 1pm Saturday 11th July 2009 and latest check out is 9.00am Friday 17th July 2009, due to the imminent start of the new semester.

Option 1 - Standard single rooms
250 rooms in two-storey wings (around 10 - 12 single rooms per floor). Shared bathroom facilities at the end of each floor. (A$70.00 per person, per day)

Option 2 - Single rooms
36 rooms with share ensuite between 2 rooms (A$75.00 per person, per day). A small number of single rooms with their own ensuite. (A$75.00 per person per day)

Option 3 - Serviced 2 bedroom flats
($A75.00 per person, per day) Spacious, some with balconies. Flats include: ensuite, separate bathroom, lounge, kitchen, dining room and laundry. It should be noted that the serviced flats are the only option offering self catering. Guests must supply crockery, cutlery and utensils. A small number of sets are available for hire.

Option 4 - Serviced 4 and 5 bedroom flats
($A75.00 per person, per day) Spacious, some with balconies. Flats include toilet, shower, lounge, kitchen, dining room and laundry. Guests must supply their own crockery, cutlery and utensils. A small number of sets are available for hire.

Accommodation bookings will be able to be made directly to the College from mid-2008, at which point directions on how to book will be posted here.

Emmanuel College is ideally located just seven kilometres from the centre of the city, a 3 minute walk from a busy bus and taxi terminus and a 10-15 minute walk to the City Cat Ferry. For anyone wishing to bring their own transport parking is available for approximately 200 vehicles.

St Lucia Village shopping centre is approximately five minutes walk from the College and has a supermarket, fruit and vegetable shop, newsagency, drycleaner, hairdresser, health care providers, travel Agency, Post Office, wine shop and several restaurants and take away bars.
